Join bestselling author Rachael Johns in conversation with Anthea Hodgson as they discuss her newest romcom, The Bad Bridesmaid.

Friday 31 January, 6pm at Manly Library.

Following on from the breakout bestseller, The Other Bridget, everyone’s favourite best friend, Winifred “Fred” Darling is back, in a delightful new romantic comedy.

As the soon-to-be author of 21 Rules for Not Catching Feelings, Fred is as antiromantic as they come. When asked to be maid of honour at her mother’s sixth wedding, she aims to prevent another marital mistake. Finding an ally with the groom's hot son, they undergo 'operation break-up' to stop the wedding. Working together, their unexpected attraction challenges Fred's strict rules about love, leading her to reconsider whether her life could resemble a romcom.

The Bad Bridesmaid is a heart-warming friends-to-lovers romance about the magic and mayhem of weddings and what happens when everything you thought you knew about love is turned upside down.

Once upon a time (briefly) Rachael Johns was an English teacher, then her dreams of becoming a novelist came true. Now she spends her days writing romance and women’s fiction in the Swan Valley, Western Australia. Her book The Patterson Girls won the ABIA Award in 2016 for General Fiction and she has also won the prestigious Romance Writers of Australia RUBY Award twice. When she’s not writing, you’ll find Rachael reading, occasionally sewing, hanging with her adorable Sheepadoodle or listening to audiobooks while driving around or cleaning up after her three sons. The only TV show she watches is The Farmer Wants a Wife and every year she says she’ll read more non-fiction but fails because there are too many good novels waiting to be devoured. Rachael loves to hear from her readers and can be contacted on Facebook, Instagram and Substack. She also runs the Rachael Johns’ Online Book Club, which you can join on Facebook.

Anthea Hodgson is a country girl from the WA wheatbelt. She worked as a radio producer in WA, NSW and Queensland before returning to WA, where she lives with her husband and two children.
