Want to learn how to code your own app or game?

Whether you're brand new to coding or have some experience, we have the workshop for you with Code4Fun offering both Beginner and Intermediate sessions at the Library these School Holidays.

  • Warringah Mall, Tue 9 July, 2-3pm - Beginner
  • Warringah Mall, Wed 10 July, 11am-12pm - Intermediate
  • Forestville, Tue 16 July, 11am-12pm - Beginner 
  • Forestville, Wed 17 July, 10-11am - Intermediate 

Ages 7-12.

Both the Beginner and Intermediate workshops will be using Scratch, a free online educational platform developed by MIT. 

All equipment and materials are provided. Attendees will be able to save their projects online and access them from home after the workshop is over.

Beginner and Intermediate level:

  • Beginner workshop (Aimed at ages 7-11): Learn the basics of block-based coding. No experience required. The main goal of this workshop is to introduce computer science and coding through game creation. Children will learn about loops, if statements, variables and how they all work together in a computer program.
  • Intermediate workshop (Aimed at ages 8 - 12): Learn more advanced algorithms. Best for those with some coding experience. The main goal of this camp is to introduce attendees to more sophisticated computer science and maths concepts. Attendees will use the X & Y coordinate system, angles and degrees, decimal and negative numbers, variables, loops and if statements and learn more about coding logic.
