NAIDOC Week events

In celebration of NAIDOC week, drop-in to the Library for special stories on the big-ish screen. Children's picture books written, illustrated and read by Indigenous Australians, will be screened from Story Box in a family friendly space.

All families and ages are welcome. Suitable for children under 12, with an accompanying parent or guardian.

Free, drop-in anytime throughout the screenings.

  • Warringah Mall Library: Monday 8 July, 1 - 5pm
  • Mona Vale Library: Wednesday 10 July, 9am - 1pm
  • Manly Library: Friday 12 July, 1 - 5pm

Story Box Library is an educational website created for children where stories by local authors and illustrators are read aloud by Australian and New Zealand storytellers. All you need is your library card number to log in.

NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia 7 - 14 July to celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC Week is an opportunity for all Australians to learn about First Nations cultures and histories and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on earth. This year's theme is Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud and Proud.
