Northern Beaches Library staff have been stepping into the world of dementia.
Dementia Australia hosted an immersive training experience to allow staff to gain a better understanding into what it’s like to live in our community with dementia. The virtual reality headsets enabled participants to feel the disorienting and often confusing world of a person living with dementia whilst negotiating day to day tasks.
The training, along with previous dementia audits, will inform future plans to create safe and inclusive library spaces for those living with dementia.
Thank you to Dementia Australia, Northern Beaches Dementia Alliance and everyone who took part in the training and made it meaningful.
