National Science Week: 10 – 18 August, 2024
National Science Week is an annual celebration of science and technology, providing a chance for everyone to appreciate the contributions of Australian scientists and the world of knowledge.
The aim of National Science Week is to spark an interest in science in young people, and to encourage them to find fascination in the world that we live in. This year's theme is Species Survival - More Than Just Sustainability.

Superstars of STEM talk
Saturday 10 August, 12 – 1pm at Manly Library
Free, bookings essential
Learn about lady beetles, our small backyard helpers, and make a collage to take home. Suitable for primary school years 3 – 6, with an accompanying parent or guardian.
Paper Circuits
Wednesday 14 August, 4 – 5.30pm at Manly Library
Thursday 15 August, 4 – 5.30pm at Dee Why Library

Create your very own LED light up paper circuit! Learn all about how electricity and circuits work to power lights. Suitable for children 8 – 12 years.
STEM Corner
Tuesdays during Term 3, 3.30 – 4.30pm at Glen Street Library
Free, drop-in
Try out a range of interactive kits and technology including Ozobots, BOSON, dots, dash and more. Suitable for children 8 – 12 years, with an accompanying parent or guardian.
STEM Kits
Borrow one of our interactive STEM kits and have fun exploring science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Suitable for kids aged 6 and over.
