For many years, schools and libraries across the world have come together virtually on 18 September to celebrate Read an eBook Day.
As eBook borrowing is at an all-time high, we would like to celebrate this day and would like you all to join us. Here are four ways you can celebrate Read an eBook day with your library card:
Ways to read an eBook
1. Download all three apps
To get the most out of our eLibrary, we encourage you to download BorrowBox, Libby and Indyreads! Each app offers a large range of content, from Australian titles to best sellers to independent publishers.
2. Borrow a simultaneous use title
Both our BorrowBox and Libby collections contain titles that you can borrow instantly. You can find titles such as The Wisdom of Sundays by Oprah Winfrey or The Day My Bum Went Psycho by Andy Griffiths in BorrowBox and in Libby, there is a large range of titles that are always available.
3. Join an online book club
From 17 September, readers in Australia and New Zealand can participate in Together We Read, a digital book club facilitated by Overdrive. Together We Read will run for two weeks, from 17 September to 1 October, with selected title The Van Apfel Girls are Gone by Felicity McLean. To participate in Together We Read on your mobile device, download the Libby app from your app store.
4. Read a classic
We are always looking out for new and popular eBooks we can add to our collection, but you can’t deny a classic. Head over to Libby to browse the large range of classics we have available as eBooks.
