Scams Awareness Week runs from 21–25 May 2018. Australians are urged to be on the lookout for threat-based impersonation scams by taking a moment to ‘Stop and check: is this for real?’.

Over $4.7 million was lost to threat-based impersonation scams in 2017 according to Scamwatch reports and more than 2,800 people gave their personal information to these scammers. Always remember - no government agency or trusted organisation will threaten you to try and get your personal information or bank details.
