Although our doors are closed, our eLibrary remains wide open.
Since our branches began closing about a month ago, our eBook and eAudio loans have dramatically increased. In fact, they have been higher then our loans during the Christmas and New Year period, which is always the busiest time for our eLibrary. Over the past month, there have been over 8,000 loans through BorrowBox and over 13,000 loans in Overdrive.
So we got curious, what's everyone reading?
Topping the lists for eAudio is Nine Perfect Strangers by Liane Moriarty and Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone by J.K. Rowling in BorrowBox and Overdrive respectively. Overdrive recently released the first Harry Potter as an unlimited use title for the month of April so naturally, we were extremely excited.
The most loaned eBook in BorrowBox has been Christian White's bestselling debut novel, The Nowhere Child, with over 70 loans in the past month. Topping the eBook loan chart in Overdrive is Funny, you don't look autistic by Michael McCreary. This memoir, which was only in our collection for a short time, was the title for Overdrive's global eBook club so we were very excited to see so many of you involved in this initiative.
Here's a full list of the top five loans in both eAudiobooks and eBooks across both platforms. We have found that reading is a wonderful way to cope with the current climate so we hope you enjoy.
