Warriewood has been identified as one of six eligible locations in Ausgrid’s network for Federal Government funding for a community battery. Ausgrid are seeking community feedback on a proposed site for a new community battery on the corner Honeyeater Grove and Blue Wren Way in Warriewood.
Community batteries offer the local community a stronger network which means we can connect more rooftop solar and electric vehicle chargers. They also offer a flexible alternative to traditional poles and wires and help to lower network costs.
In recent weeks, Ausgrid also requested community feedback on another site at Valley View Reserve, Parkland Way Warriewood. Honeyeater Reserve is being considered as a potential alternate site.
Both sites have been identified as a good location to support the grid and wider solar uptake and Ausgrid is seeking further community feedback to help select the most suitable site.
If you’re a local resident or community member and would like to hear more about the community battery project, you’re invited to attend a drop-in session to meet the Ausgrid project team, ask questions and share feedback.
The session will be held at the proposed battery location at Honeyeater Reserve, on the corner of Honeyeater Grove and Blue Wren Way, Warriewood this Saturday 3 June between 10.00am and 11.30am.
You can also read about the project and share feedback via Ausgrid’s website.
