Rockpool-Cover.jpg

The world famous Northern Beaches rockpools are great places to cool down or do a few laps.

Council sometimes closes rockpools due to rough seas, for renovations or cleaning. Pools will reopen once sufficient water has entered the pool, this normally occurs after the next high tide.

Northern Beaches Council and Beachwatch NSW recommend you avoid swimming for three days after heavy rain.

Schools, Surf Clubs, Swimming Clubs and other groups are able to book a rockpool. Please note that it is a requirement of a booking that two lanes are to be left available for the public.

Pool Cleaning Roster

Pool cleaning rosters are listed on each rockpool's page. All rockpools 2024 cleaning schedules.

The pool cleaning roster can change at any time due to unusual weather circumstances or pool conditions.

Please note published times in the roster are subject to change depending on weather, prevailing seas, tidal flows and other surf conditions. The time taken to fill a pool after cleaning on any given day can vary and is dependent on the weather and surf conditions. A sign will be placed at the pool indicating it is closed during the filling process and will be removed as soon as possible once the pool is full.

Please contact Council on 1300 434 434 should you have any questions regarding the rock pool cleaning rosters.
