Searching for a last-minute getaway for the extended family this Christmas? Look no further than the Lodge at Currawong Beach Cottages, a secluded retreat set high up in the bush with sweeping views of treetops towards Pittwater.

The Lodge has recently been upgraded and is open for bookings with availability throughout the summer period. With beds for 12 guests, this large cottage is an ideal place for multiple families or large groups to get together.

Relax on your wraparound verandah surrounded by nature or fire up the barbecue while the kids play in the private grassy outdoor area.

For the active types, there’s a sandy beach for swimming and fishing, bush trails, a five-hole golf course, tennis court, half basketball court, beach volleyball and a games room with table tennis.

You can do as much or as little as you like at Currawong and it’s only a ferry’s ride away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

This eco-retreat is managed by Council and has lots of other accommodation options to suit your needs. From cabins which sleep 4 or 5 to the historic Midholme which sleeps up to 16, all of which have fully equipped kitchens for self-catering. But you’ll need to book quickly – these sell out fast!

The only way to get to this hidden gem is by water. Take the ferry or book a water taxi from Palm Beach or come by your own boat. After a scenic 20 mins on the water, you’ll arrive at this secluded car-free destination surrounded by bush.
