With membership of Forestville 24/7 reaching 1,000 people, it’s clear the community has embraced the convenience and accessibility of this new library service.
The 24/7 initiative meets the changing needs of the community, enabling members to access Forestville Library outside of standard hours for borrowing, study, computer use and access to Wi-Fi and printing.
As a result, the service has been used nearly 3,000 times since its official launch in March!
While our members tell us study is their major reason for using the service, others have shared some of the fun and interesting ways they’ve used their 24-hour access including:
- Rushing up at 10pm to borrow the next book in a series
- Emailing concert tickets to the printer and picking them up on the way
- Using the focus pod to record vocals for a song
- Watching international sporting events, like the Tour de France, on library computers overnight
For further information about Forestville 24/7 or to join, library members (over 16 years of age) must register online and participate in a half-hour safety induction. Find out more.
