This winter, health and fitness is back on the agenda thanks to two new outdoor gyms unveiled by Council at Belrose and Forestville.
Packed with state-of-the-art fitness equipment, these new outdoor gyms complement the highly popular recreation areas at Lionel Watts Reserve, Frenchs Forest and Forestville War Memorial Playing Fields (Melwood Oval).
The Lionel Watts gym is located in the space between the cricket nets and the basketball courts and has an elliptical trainer, leg press and leg raise, chest press, pull up and down bar, two box jumps, body dip station, ladder rack and roman rings.
The Forestville gym sits between the synthetic playing fields and the tennis courts at the southern end of the park and includes a leg press, chest press, pull down, sit up bench, pull up bars, leg raise and body dip station, roman rings and a ladder.
With the addition of these two new gyms, the Northern Beaches now has 12 outdoor exercise areas.

These two gyms are part of the adopted Glen Street Open Space Masterplan and the Forestville Sports Field Landscape Masterplan, with Council proudly delivering on its promise of transforming underutilised spaces into useful community assets.
