The latest designs for better walking and cycling paths around Beacon Hill, Frenchs Forest and Davidson are now available for community feedback.

Last year, in late 2024, the community was invited to provide feedback on the concept design for this proposed network. Feedback was mostly positive and supportive, highlighting the benefits of improved walking and cycling paths and crossings.

However, some important points were raised including the safety of all users of shared paths, and the importance of protecting trees and the local environment.

In response to these concerns, we’ve updated designs and prepared a Tree Management Plan to reduce environmental impacts and preserve the area’s natural character.

Community input has helped shape the detailed design for Stage 1, which now includes updated priority crossings approved by the Local Traffic Committee in February 2025, as well as incorporating findings from an independent Road Safety Audit.

Council is now inviting further community feedback on the detailed designs. To make a contribution, head to the Your Say and share your feedback by Sunday 20 July.

This project is funded by the NSW Government.
