Taking a dip at one of our glorious beaches is always a special moment. But swimming in murky water and confronted by floating litter is a complete turnoff.

Did you know the biggest source of water pollution on the Northern Beaches is contaminated stormwater? Surprised? 

In fact, every year there’s on average 880 tonnes of debris caught in our stormwater system – that’s the equivalent in weight to over 35 double decker buses!

While we capture a huge amount of debris in our 240 pollutant traps across the Beaches, we still need your help in keeping our water clean by making sure it’s just pure rain that enters our drains.
