A short film about a ‘time travelling entrepreneur’ has taken out the top gong at Northern Beaches Council’s 24/7 Youth Film Festival.
For 20 years, the 24/7 Youth Film Festival has opened doors to local young filmmakers to express their skills and passion for filmmaking.
This year, T.Warp were crowned the winners for Best Script, Best Editing and Best Film for their film ‘A Day in the Life of a Time Travelling Entrepreneur’.
The festival also provides opportunities for young people to develop filmmaking skills through a pre-competition workshop which serves as a stepping-stone for young filmmaker’s careers.
The theme of this year’s festival was ‘Generations’. Only the top 6 films were screened at Glen Street Theatre, selected by a panel of Council staff and sponsors. Filmmakers gave their all for the chance to win an appealing assortment of prizes ranging from a tripod system worth $1661 from longtime sponsor Miller Tripods and a $500 voucher from Camera Hire, another returning sponsor of the festival.
Awards for Best Audio and Best Cinematography went to The B-Team for their film ‘That Place We Knew’. FABS Films, the youngest entrants in the competition, won for best use of theme in their film ‘A Captive Audience’. The People’s Choice Award went to Pink Nail Productions for their film ‘Lemon Heart’.
