Applications are now open for eligible organisations and community groups to apply for a pool of $376,000 in grants in four categories covering a broad range of activities in our community.
Community Development, Arts and Creativity, Environmental and Events grants are covered in the 2022/23 round.
Mayor Michael Regan said the grants demonstrate Council’s ongoing financial support for projects that enhance and bring together our collective community and cultural experience as well as those that improve the environment we live in.
“Council is proud to support many worthwhile innovative and successful projects over the years thanks to this grants program.
“While Council plays host to a diverse and exciting schedule of events annually, the Event grants complement our existing program providing external providers financial assistance to run their event.
“We have lots of talented, creative people in our community creating significant bottom-line economic value, jobs, and shared enjoyment.” Cr Regan said.
“Over the years, we’ve seen incredible projects from our passionate local community who have so much to offer when it comes to caring for our environment, some of which would not have been possible without a grant.
“We are looking for applications that will build strength and resilience by empowering people of all ages and abilities to become engaged and connected to their community. This also includes projects that contribute to the local economy and enrich our individual and collective wellbeing.
“Applicants must demonstrate how the main aims of the grants will be fulfilled. Whether you’re a club, individual, or community organisation review the relevant grant guidelines to discover whether you qualify for funding. Good luck to the 22/23 applicants! ” Mayor Regan said.
The funding pool comprises $240,000 for arts, creativity, and community development, $50,000 shared in the environmental grants, and $86,000 for events grants.
The maximum grant allocated for each category includes:
- Community development, up to $10,000
- Arts and Creativity, up to $10,000
- Environment, up to $5,000
- Events, up to $10,000
Applications for all four grant programs open on Wednesday 29 June. For the events grants, applications close on the 20 July and all remaining grants applications must be submitted by the Monday 8 August 2022.
