Stony Range Botanic Garden is seeking 20 outdoor artworks for a sculpture walk to be installed for its annual Spring Festival on Sunday, 10 September.

Northern Beaches Council Acting General Manager Environment & Infrastructure Steve Lawler said organisers were planning to put on the best event to date, with more than 800 visitors expected to attend.

“The sculpture walk will be one of the key attractions of the festival, with visitors able to view the pieces as they wander along the 2km walking track.

“It will be a magnificent exhibition with the backdrop of the native wildflowers and Australian bush in full bloom,” he said.

Artists are invited to submit works for display and sale in the exhibition by Friday, 7 July.  The works should relate to the Spring Festival theme of “Wild Things”.

For more information or applications, email Eleanor Eakins at stonyrange@gmail.com or phone 9451 1883.

The Spring Festival is organised by volunteers and will feature music, talks, live native animals, children’s craft and advice and sale of native plants.

Stony Range, a 3.3 hectare bushland sanctuary in Dee Why, is free and open every day of the year.  The main circuit was extended in 2013 to include a sensory track with signs pointing out plants that visitors can touch, taste and smell.
