Forget the hassle of the Harbour Bridge, this New Year's Eve there's firework displays across the Northern Beaches at Pittwater, Dee Why Beach and Manly Cove.
"Some of the best vantage points, such as our beaches, foreshores and reserves, are free," said Northern Beaches Council Executive Manager, Place Management, Mick Darda.
"So come early and get a picnic spot to usher in New Year's Eve with a spectacular fireworks display.
"There's no need for local families to travel into the city to see fireworks, with three locations to choose from and all fireworks visible for free.
"As the first New Year's Eve since Northern Beaches Council was formed, the fireworks are a great opportunity to celebrate our common values as a community.
"We'd also like to extend a big thank you to local businesses helping to make these fireworks happen," added Mr Darda.
Fireworks are on at:
- Rowland Reserve, Bayview, with vantage points around the area, at 9pm and midnight
- Dee Why Beach, 9pm
- Manly Cove, 9pm.
"We've worked closely with local police to identify special event clearways and road closures for New Year's Eve to ensure the safety of our residents and visitors.
"And we ask that people take care, follow signs in the area and have a great night." said Mr Darda.
