Interested in checking out our emerging musical talent on the Northern Beaches? Then come along to the final of Northern Composure Unplugged on 7 December at YOYOs Youth Centre at Frenchs Forest at 7PM.
Northern Composure Unplugged provides young musicians between 12 and 19 years of age an opportunity to perform before an audience and judges.
It is an acoustic version of the long running Northern Composure Band Competition.
In the past two weeks, 29 entrants have lined up in front of the spotlight, in two Heats with 12 finalists selected.
Mayor Michael Regan said the final is sure to be a great night out for all those who love live music.
“You won’t be disappointed by the calibre of these young talented musicians. Among the final 12, there could well be a rising star or two in the making.”
Northern Composure is a great platform for young female musicians to perform live and this year’s final includes eight girls, several of whom took to the stage for the first time.
“We see a strong turnout of guys at its companion event the Northern Composure Band competition, so it’s really good to see the girls taking the opportunity to perform live in a safe and supported environment at Unplugged.”
The final features a star-studded line-up of judges: original INXS band member Kirk Pengilly, former winner of the Northern Composure Band Competition and previous Australia’s Got Talent Finalist, James Parrino and Kellie Crawford, a former Hi 5 band member and All Together Now judge.
Northern Composure Unplugged, Friday 7 December, YOYOs Youth Centre, Frenchs Forest. All ages, no alcohol, $10 entry at door.
