Covering a spectrum of entertainment, the Glen Steet Theatre 2023 program offers everything from stellar musical performances featuring Marcia Hines, John Waters and Karen Knowles, to stand-up comedy and much-loved books brought to life on stage like The Twits, Are We There Yet? and Possum Magic.
The all-star line-up features live music, comedy, theatre shows and film screenings as well as family shows, dance and musical storytelling.
On sale from 3 January Belinda Gibson, Director of Glen Street Theatre said the program has something for every taste and age group.
“This year is all about putting entertainment and joy back on the agenda – with a focus on offering something for everyone.
“We love providing audiences from the Northern Beaches and beyond with premium entertainment options all year long and 2023 will set the bar even higher. Our community is craving story, live music, adventure, togetherness, and a bit of magic –and we will give it to them,” Gibson said.
On sale from 3 January, highlights of the program include family shows with big energy like urban circus, 360 Allstars; big names in Australian music like Marcia Hines and 1927, top live music tributes to Elvis, The Beatles, Queen, David Bowie and more, as well as excellent dramas and acclaimed productions such as The Sunshine Club, written by Wesley Enoch and Colleen McCullough’s Tim, adapted for the stage by Tim McGarry (known for his terrific adaptation of Boy Swallows Universe).
Glen Street Theatre favourites also return to the limelight, such as the beloved Wharf Revue with their new show, Looking for Albanese, the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow and the world’s only global short film festival, Manhattan Short.

20 January 2023 – The John Lennon Songbook in Concert
John Waters and Stewart D'Arrietta are back with the fabulous Liverpool Band, bringing you the latest instalment of their hugely successful interpretation of Lennon’s music.
11 March 2023: Under the Milky Way Tonight
Under the Milky Way Tonight starring Karen Knowles was created by Karen to honour the love, light and heartfelt contribution Archie Roach, Judith Durham and Olivia Newton John made to the fabric of Australia’s musical soul and identity.
21 March – 2 Apr 2023: The Wharf Revue: Looking for Albanese
Satirising the year that was, The Wharf Revue tackles 2022 with comedy that includes a look at all the big issues to create an uproarious 90-minute show full of hilarity and parody.
For 15 years and counting, Reel Rock has been sharing the stories of the climbing community, producing films that celebrate the human side behind this sport’s great adventures.
Using a clever, nuanced palette of live action, stage magic, an original soundscape, elements of puppetry and projected animation, Monkey Baa’s award-winning creative team have translated the whimsical world of the book to a live experience for audiences 3–8 years (and their families).
A tale of sea eagles and pole dancing, of children and childhood dreams, of religion and rock ‘n roll. Most of all, this is a tale of friendships that have stood the test of time. A provocative story for our times, this funny and poignant Australian play is both a comedy and a tragedy.

Driftwood –The Musical tells the inspirational story of the renowned Austrian-Australian sculptor Karl Duldig and his artist-inventor wife, Slawa Horowitz-Duldig. We follow their lives in pre-war Vienna, to Australia following their miraculous escape from the Holocaust.
