The Glen Street Theatre restaurant area will have a new lease of life as Council calls for tenders from operators to reinvigorate the space.

Northern Beaches Council resolved to proceed with a lease for the space following a comprehensive feasibility study.

Mayor Regan said he looked forward to what could be done with the area.

“It is exciting that after a long process we can now go out to tender for someone to make this space a truly cool venue for locals to hang out,” Mayor Regan said.

“I, along with many in the community, was disappointed when the former lessee decided not to continue the lease in late 2018, but as one door closes, another one opens.

“There are some great local business people around that can see the potential of this site and with the upgrades completed to Lionel Watts and the Library, it will be part of a great community hub.

“I can’t wait to see what fantastic ideas comes in.”

Council, in December 2018, decided to conduct the feasibility study after the withdrawal of 4 Pines Brewery Holdings Ltd from the restaurant 20-year lease.

The Tender process is scheduled to commence in early 2021.
