Northern Beaches Council is asking the community to comment by Monday 6 March on a number of options to revitalise district playgrounds at Brookvale and North Manly to create fun, inclusive and challenging play areas for children of all ages.
Mark Ferguson, General Manager Northern Beaches Councils said the Brookvale Park and Passmore Reserve playgrounds are 17 years old and in need of revitalisation.
“Both playgrounds are popular and well used, and by gaining community feedback we can ensure the new designs are inclusive and cater to the diverse needs of the whole community,” Mr Ferguson said.
Some of the playground equipment ideas include a multi-play tower, climbing nets, slides, see-saws, talk tubes and musical elements.
In addition, to upgrading the playground facilities there will be landscape improvements that will enhance shade and work in with natural and heritage aspects of the surrounding areas.
“The new playgrounds and upgraded facilities will offer increased social, recreation and play opportunities and I encourage everyone to view the options and have their say,” he said.
