Frenchs Forest, on Sydney's Northern Beaches is set to become a vibrant and connected new town centre featuring a new state-of-the-art High School, a new Aquatic Centre, with over 2,000 new dwellings, a new shopping precinct, outdoor public spaces, all connected by new pedestrian paths and cycle ways.
A comprehensive Draft Hospital Precinct Structure Plan has been revealed providing the first glance of how the new town centre and surrounds of the Northern Beaches Hospital could look like.
Northern Beaches Council Administrator, Dick Persson AM said the vision is to deliver a sustainable and integrated urban centre that provides for the future needs of the community.
"This Draft Plan offers an exciting snapshot, showcasing opportunities to integrate retail and dining experiences with open community spaces in addition to a new aquatic centre that may have synergies with the Hospital.
Key highlights include:

- 2,200 new homes
- Provision for up to 10% affordable rental housing to support key workers
- A new state-of-the-art Frenchs Forest High School

"The Draft Plan is the result of extensive consultation with the local community, stakeholders and State Government agencies. Not only will this make for a highly accessible and dynamic place to live, but it will also make Frenchs Forest a real-go-to for shopping and entertainment on the Northern Beaches.
"This is a Draft Plan that offers so much for the community and now we begin the process of ensuring everyone gets a chance to have their say on it. From today there will be many opportunities for the community to provide input and we are offering an extended period of consultation through to the end of February next year, ” Mr Persson added.
"This is a very exciting project and I am looking forward to feedback and comment from the community through the extensive community engagement sessions.
"The core elements in this Structure Plan will make Frenchs Forest a highly sought after destination not just for those living nearby but from all over the Northern Beaches," said Mr Persson.
The Draft Hospital Precinct Structure Plan will be on exhibition from Thursday 1 December until Thursday 28 February.
