Northern Beaches Council is reminding motorists around Warriewood of the changed traffic conditions that are in place to maintain access to Macpherson Street while a major upgrade is being carried out.
As part of the $10.5 million Warriewood Valley Upgrade project, Macpherson Street between Boondah Road and Warriewood Road is closed until approximately December when work is due to be completed.
Council Deputy General Manager Ben Taylor said interim measures are in place to manage traffic flows whilst works are being carried out and wanted to remind motorists that they can still access local businesses.
"We want to thank the community, including local businesses, for their patience during this project, especially during those busy times.
“There is still access to the businesses further along Macpherson St via Warriewood Road or Garden St, as well as from the north along Ponderosa Parade during the essential upgrade works that focus on the major entry and exit points for Warriewood Valley, including a flood evacuation route via Macpherson Street.,” Mr Taylor said.
The next phase of the project will include the construction of a new roundabout and associated underground services on Warriewood and Macpherson Streets and the construction of the new retaining and culvert structures on Macpherson Street
The Warriewood Valley Upgrade project is part of the Warriewood Valley Roads Masterplan to drive major investment in the area and plan for future population growth.
