After a successful Manly Health and Wellness event last year, the Northern Beaches Council and Manly Business Chamber are again partnering to host the event for a second year.
The one-day event, featuring free fitness classes and health seminars, will be held at Manly Beachfront on Saturday 17 February 2024.
Northern Beaches Mayor Sue Heins said the day is to bring the Manly health and wellness community together.
“If the popularity of last year’s event is any indication, the Northern Beaches community take their own health and wellness seriously.
“Manly’s health and wellness community is strong and committed. Events like this will help strengthen these dedicated businesses, bringing them together with the community in a convivial, interactive and educational environment.
“With a region blessed with wonderful nature reserves, parks and beaches, it is no wonder our community enjoys exercising, especially in the outdoors,” Mayor Heins said.
Manly Business Chamber President Ashling O’Brien added:
“Our Health and Wellness Day is not just an event; it's a movement. A day to empower your body, ignite your mind, and engage with the soul of our local community. Connect with our hometown heroes and businesses as we stride towards a healthier, stronger Manly. Your wellness revolution starts here. Come and be a part of it,” Ms O’Brien said.
The exhibition, with over 20 stallholders, commences at 9 am with the official opening from the stage at 8.45am. Talks and panel discussions start from 9 am, spaced throughout the day with topics from Work Life Balance and Ageing Gracefully to Finding Your Community and Mental Health.
Several of the fitness classes are for the early birds, commencing at 7.30 am with the last being at 2 pm. Bookings are required for these classes with the details for each listed on the website.
