"Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of the five-year-old child involved in the tragic accident on Anzac Avenue Collaroy alongside Griffith Park on the weekend.

"We are also thinking about all those who were present at the rugby game and in the surrounding area.

"Council is working closely with the Police who are investigating the incident.
