The NSW Government today proclaimed a new local government area amalgamating Manly, Pittwater and Warringah council areas.

The new Council will be called the Northern Beaches Council.

The change takes effect from 12.30pm today, 12 May 2016.

The General Manager of Pittwater Council, Mark Ferguson has been appointed General Manager of new Council and Dick Persson will be the Administrator.

This situation will remain in place until the new Council is elected in September 2017.

While the transition to the Northern Beaches Council is taking place it will be business as usual and all services will continue to be delivered to the highest of standards.
