Responding to requests to extend the application period, Northern Beaches Council today announced a new closing date for the national-reaching Northern Beaches Environmental Art and Design Prize of Wednesday 25 May, at 5pm AEST.
This non-acquisitive prize has a prize pool over $40,000 across nine categories and encourages artists and designers across Australia, to share their creative and innovative ideas for a better, greener future, reflect on our environment and compel change.
The categories encompass a range of contemporary practices, from fashion and design to ceramics, painting, photography, digital media, functional and textile design and more.
This year - winners will be awarded by an esteemed external judging panel of leading creative practitioners and thinkers, including Dr Michael Mossman, a Kuku Yalanji man and Lecturer, University of Sydney School of Architecture Design & Planning, Australian Artist, Janet Laurence and Kit Willow a leading Australian luxury fashion designer.
The exhibition of finalist works will be displayed at Manly Art Gallery & Museum, Curl Curl Creative Space and Mona Vale Pop Up Gallery from 5 – 28 August.
