Northern Composure 2006 Band Competition musician turned high school teacher, Cameron McKee has passed on his performance passion to his students, who will take the stage for Heat Two this Friday, 24 March at YOYOs Youth Centre from 7 -10.30pm.

Mr McKee who is a music teacher at Northern Beaches Secondary College - Cromer Campus said he was thrilled the two bands, Blue Raspberry and Pandemonium, who he has been mentoring were embracing the Northern Composure Band Comp scene.

“Participating in Northern Composure was very exciting and gave me a stage experience I was unable to get anywhere else at the time, so I am really excited my students have got this opportunity to develop and show off their talents,” Mr McKee said.

Northern Beaches Council Deputy General Manager, Andrew Pigott said he was pleased to see that Northern Composure had such a positive and longstanding influence with Northern Beaches' youth.

“Northern Composure is the biggest and longest running youth band competition on the Northern Beaches and we are pleased to see that former performers are able to pass on their expertise and experiences to the next generation of musicians,” Mr Pigott said.

Northern Composure heat two competitors include Astral Plane, Garner, Pandemonium and The Pilchards.

Northern Composure competitors are in the running to win a $4000 recording package, paid event at the Music Lounge in Brookvale, live recording of their set, marketing assistance and prize money. There are also lucky door prizes for audience members.

Northern Composure is an all ages, drug and alcohol-free event with security provided. Tickets are $10 at the door. For more information call Youth and Families Team on (02) 9942 2681.
