Northern Beaches Council is encouraging the community to comment before Sunday 12 February on the design for a new amenities block at Fairy Bower after facilities were washed away in the June storms.
Council General Manager, Mark Ferguson said that Fairy Bower pool is an iconic location and the new amenities block will cater for thousands of locals and tourists.
"This new amenities block will provide a more accessible and family friendly facility that will cater to the diverse needs of the community in this environmentally sensitive area," Mr Ferguson said.
The new Fairy Bower amenities block plans have two toilets, two change rooms, a family friendly accessible bathroom with a shower and a water refill station. As part of the replacement, Council is also seeking to make the new amenities block more storm-tolerant.
"Following the storms Council has undertaken hundreds of urgent repairs to local infrastructure.
"The new amenities block at Fairy Bower required more planning due to its location and I am pleased that the merged Council had more resources available to expedite this much needed facility," he said.
Further improvement works are planned to be delivered in 2018 along Marine Parade and at Fairy Bower Pool providing better access and seating.
