Children on the Northern Beaches continue to have access to high quality education and care with Northern Beaches Council’s services again exceeding national standards.

Cromer Vacation Care, Brookvale Children’s Centre and Belrose Children’s Centre have recently been recognised as ‘Exceeding the National Quality Standard’.

The National Quality Standard (NQS) sets the national benchmark for the quality of children’s education and care services across Australia. 

Services are assessed against the NQS by the NSW Early Childhood Education and Care Directorate and receive a rating for each of seven quality areas including health and safety, educational programs, relationships with children and leadership as well as an overall rating.

Council’s Cromer Vacation Care service is now ranked in the top 10% in New South Wales.

The overall rating of ‘Exceeding’ is given only to services that go above and beyond the requirements of the Standard.

Earlier this year, Council’s Family Day Care Service was also awarded as ‘Exceeding’ the NQS.
