Council is proud to welcome highly regarded paper artist and designer, Jo Neville, as our artist-in-residence at Mona Vale Creative Space Studios for the next 12 months.
Jo will be turning the space into a paper florist full of colourful blooms changing with each season from Wednesday 21 February 2024 to February 2025.
As the driving force behind Paper Couture, Jo produces bespoke creations for retail and corporate organisations such as Louis Vuitton, Moet Chandon, and Tiffany & Co. She also produces creations for events and private commissions.
Influenced by the local environment, her artworks tell a story of the area, utilising sustainable, repurposed products to make paper creations, from banksias, bottlebrush, and flannel flowers, to life-size xanthorea.
Among the curated artworks, single blooms and bunches will be for sale. Jo will also be selling all the materials needed to make your own blooms.
Throughout the year at the Mona Vale Creative Space Studios, Jo will be leading workshops from step-by-step lessons for beginners to intensive masterclasses. Workshops will also be in collaboration with other local creatives such as calligraphy artist Glenda Davis from Written by Hand. Keep watching the website for the dates. Bookings are essential.
Mona Vale Creative Space Studios is located at 1 Park Street, Mona Vale, and is open Tuesday to Saturday from 11 am to 5 pm
