Small rainfall totals are forecast over the Sydney basin for the next few days. While Council is closely monitoring conditions, we are not expecting any flooding to impact our lagoons.
If you live near Narrabeen Lagoon or have driven past recently, you would have seen our contractors are currently dredging and removing sand from the lagoon and moving it onto Narrabeen Beach. They are also doing important works on the bridge at Ocean Street.
To ensure both projects are progressed safely and efficiently, it’s best to keep the lagoon closed where we can. The lagoon is currently below its normal opening level, however, our crews and machinery are ready to step in and open the lagoon entrance if conditions worsen.
