The Special Works and Transformation Team, or S.W.A.T team as they’re affectionately known, is back! This time their mission has been a cleaning offensive in Manly CBD.
The team charged through Manly Corso, Sydney Road and Wentworth Street this week sweeping, painting, gardening and pressure cleaning seating areas, pavers and bins. And while our pine trees are iconic, they can create a bit of mess. To keep Manly looking at its best, the team have swept up the streets free from vegetation and debris.
While Council crews are out in Manly doing this work every day, the S.W.A.T team blitz is an opportunity to knock off all those little jobs in one go that can really make a difference.
Manly needs to be in tip top shape with Taste of Manly and the Local Government NSW Destination and Visitor Economy Conference coming up this month.
The iconic Taste of Manly (Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 May) is the pinnacle of Manly’s vibrant food, drink and music culture. Set against one of Australia’s most unique beach locations, it’s a proud showcase of our best and brightest local restaurants, distillers and brewers alongside Australia’s finest wine producers across two music-filled days. Check out what’s on.
The Local Government NSW Destination and Visitor Economy Conference (Monday 29 – Wednesday 31 May) is a three-day event bringing together up to 250 local government staff and Councillors, key industry stakeholders and local tourism operators to discuss insights and the ever-changing world facing future visitors. It’s an amazing platform to showcase Manly and the Northern Beaches as a leading tourism destination, and profile some of our key tourism assets and experiences.
