From curators to childcare workers, librarians to lifeguards, engineers to educators, media specialists to mechanics and much more, we’re proud of the diversity of people who work within Council.
With over 1,800 staff, we’re not only the largest employer on the Northern Beaches, but an organisation that delivers far more than just roads, rates and rubbish collection. And with over 80% of staff also calling our area home, they are truly part of the local community.
This week is Local Government Week (29 July – 4 August), a nationwide initiative designed to showcase the breadth of people and services who work in councils.
And in celebration, we’re turning the spotlight on the incredible people who work behind the scenes in our organisation. Meet some of our team:
Our people work across nearly 40 career areas. They manage spaces and programs including libraries, art galleries, a theatre and creative spaces, and they support health and wellness through our aquatic centres, sportsfields and playgrounds.
Our teams maintain and promote bushland and waterways, floods and stormwater systems, beaches, ocean pools and roads, as well as nurture and educate in our childcare centres, environment centres and vacation care services. Plus they work in professional services, on major events, organise valued community services like our libraries and Meals on Wheels, plus much more.
We’re committed to attracting the best individuals to join what we think is a talented and productive team in a collaborative and supportive working environment. In a recent employee survey, this is overwhelmingly what our team thinks too, with staff reporting high levels of job satisfaction.
