Our Vacation Care children will be making connections and sharing joy and cookies with older adults in our community these spring holidays.
Council’s Vacation Care program offers opportunities each school holidays for children aged 5 to 12 to form intergenerational connections, and for young and old to learn from each other.
Children in our Manly Vale Vacation Care centre will be baking and decorating yummy cookies which they will hand-deliver to nearby residents at Hardi Aged Care.
The children love walking to the home with colouring-in templates and markers, games, books and smiles to share with their ‘grandfriends’.
Many of the children return each school holidays and are looking forward to visiting their new friends again to build upon these relationships.
This spring, children at our Cromer Vacation Care service will also be baking for nearby residents at Dee Why Gardens Retirement Village.
Residents from Bupa Aged Care Seaforth will enjoy high tea with children at North Harbour Vacation Care as our special guests.
