Northern Beaches' Coastal Environment Centre will run a free workshop on Saturday 17 September to show residents how to use less household chemicals and create a healthier home and environment.
Hosted by sustainability expert Rebecca Jones of Sustain Me Consulting, this workshop will debunk myths about natural cleaning alternatives and show residents how to detox their homes in a simple cost effective way.
"Through this free workshop, participants will receive practical advice on how to detox their home, creating a healthier environment for their entire household," Ms Jones said.
Ms Jones explained that residents will learn how to substitute chemical-based products with healthier options that are equally efficient.
She added that the main concern of residents using toxic chemicals in the home is not just their health.
"Another key reason to reduce chemicals is the direct benefit to the natural environment and to the household budget," she said.
Northern Beaches Council encourages residents to attend the workshop, and to choose more efficient and environmentally friendly products into the future.
Workshop participants will receive workshop notes and a free chemical free cleaner to try at home.
