Eligible organisations are being invited to apply for the second and final round of grants offered under the NSW Government’s Stronger Communities Fund, designed to kick start the delivery of projects that build a more vibrant, sustainable and inclusive community.

Northern Beaches Council Administrator Dick Persson AM said incorporated not-for-profit groups can apply for the second round of funding and must demonstrate that their project will benefit the Northern Beaches community.

“This is a great initiative that will help community organisations deliver social, cultural, economic or environmental benefits that address Council’s identified community priorities such as community safety, the natural environment, youth, recreation and art, culture and heritage.”

Disability support organisation Sunnyfield based at Frenchs Forest, received $37,475 from Round One to deliver technology-driven courses to help with the education, employment and social integration of people with intellectual disability.

Sunnyfield Community Liaison Manager Rajika Gilhotra said the grant is enabling Sunnyfield to establish a learning space for people where, through enhanced skill development people with intellectual disability are able to develop personal and social networks, and embrace job opportunities.

Northern Beaches Council is holding three grant information sessions, a grant writing workshop and three pre-booked drop in brainstorming sessions to assist he community with their grant application.

The maximum grant amount for the second round of funding is $50,000, with a minimum of $5,000. Applications open on 3 April and close on 12 May.  Further information
