Northern Beaches' residents can now stay up to date on more than 300 key upgrade projects thanks to a new online tool launched by Northern Beaches Council.
Administrator Dick Persson AM said the new interactive map highlights the $137 million of Council projects underway from Palm Beach to Manly and across to Forestville.
"Council is investing $137 million in more than 300 community, environmental, urban infrastructure and sport and recreation projects and this map includes the details, dates and costs of each of them.
"This initiative is an important part of the transition from the three former councils to the new Northern Beaches Council. The delivery program which can be accessed in this new feature flows on from the strategic plans of the three former councils to achieve the community's vision," Mr Persson said.
"It is a fabulous way for everyone to see the headway Council is making on large community facilities like the Northern Beaches PCYC and allows the community to see what is going on in their own backyard.
Community projects include facilities like the Northern Beaches PCYC which will be completed early next year, the Bayview and Paradise Wharf upgrades, more than 100 infrastructure upgrades like the Balgowlah streetscape works and road resurfacing
"Northern Beaches Council caters for tens of thousands of players, volunteers, officials and spectators participating in sport and recreation across the region each week and the map showcases the upgrades taking place in these areas also," Mr Persson added.
"The environment continues to be of the upmost importance for Northern Beaches Council and now our community can see what we are doing to improve the water quality of our creeks and maintaining and improving our beautiful coastline.
While the map shows the capital works projects, hundreds more smaller jobs and maintenance tasks continue to be undertaken daily by Council staff.
The community are encouraged to take a look at the large array of projects.
"This is a very useful and accessible resource for the community and I urge everyone to make use of it. All of these works ensure the community continues to see key projects being delivered and high levels of service maintained across the whole region," Mr Persson said.
