A large ornamental tree which naturally has a lovely natural rounded habit, this makes a great shade tree for larger spaces.

It will grow to around twenty metres in warm moist areas, but will be smaller in cooler and drier areas. It has large glossy leaves, and had foliage to the ground if not pruned away.

In cooler areas it will be semi-deciduous in the winter months. It has clusters of small cream flowers in late autumn to early winter, followed by oval blackish fruit. The wood can be used for cabinet work and is good for tool handles.

Propagate from seed.
