Mary Newlinds Reserve covers approximately 3.7ha on the western fringes of the suburb of Duffys Forest. It is part of the ridgetop and escarpment above Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park and Cowan Creek to the west, providing spectacular views from the ridgetop. The reserve forms part of a significant wildlife corridor linking Ku-ring-gai Chase and Garigal National Parks with the Narrabeen Lagoon catchment.

Vegetation

The entire reserve is vegetated by intact native bushland composed predominantly of a type of dry sclerophyll forest known as Sydney Coastal Sandstone Bloodwood Shrub Forest. Threatened flora species known to occur within the reserve include Eucalyptus camfieldii and Tetratheca glandulosa.

Fauna

The reserve is home to a range of native species including the threatened Southern Brown Bandicoot and New Holland Mouse. Other native species recorded within the reserve include the Sugar Glider, Long-nosed Bandicoot, Swamp Wallaby, Bush Rat and Lace Monitor.
