The Northern Beaches Sporting Honour Roll recognises and celebrates individuals who have achieved sporting excellence representing Australia as an athlete across junior, open age and masters level of competition or who have made a significant contribution to sport in a role such as a referee, umpire, judge, coach, manager or official. Inductees are considered role models for future generations of athletes on the Northern Beaches.

Anne Sargeant
Netball
Anne Sargeant represented Australia in netball for 11 years from 1978 to 1988.
Ben Thudhope
Para-snowboarding
Ben was Australia’s youngest ever Winter Paralympian when at just 14 years old he was selected for the 2014 Winter Paralympic games in Sochi, Russia.
Bernard ‘Midget' Farrelly
Surfing
Bernard began surfing at the age of 6 on a 17-foot hollowed paddleboard, earning him the nickname of Midget when comparing his height to his board.
Brendan Foley
Swimming
Brendon Foley represented Australia in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010 and 2012 at the World Down Syndrome Swimming Championships.
Brian Dalton
Judo
Brian was selected to represent Australia in Judo at the Tokyo 1964 Olympics after winning the lightweight Australian championships earlier the same year.
Brooke Hanson OAM
Swimming
Brooke first represented Australia at the age of 16 during the 1994 Commonwealth Games in Victoria, Canada placing fourth in 200m breaststroke.
Cameron Clark
Rugby 7's
Cameron first represented Australia in 2022 when he made his debut for the Rugby 7's team in Wellington, New Zealand. Following this, he went on to represent Australia at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland.
Chloe Dalton
Rugby 7s
Chloe's debut representing Australia was at the 2014-15 World Rugby Sevens Series in Dubai where they finished as runners-up. The team went on to be crowned world champions, winning the 2015-16 series.

Chloe began gymnastics at the age of 4 and started competing at the age of 6.

Evie started sailing at the age of 8 and her enthusiasm for the sport quickly led her to competing internationally.
Grant Brits
Swimming
Grant represented Australia at the 2008 Beijing Olympics where he won a Bronze medal in the 4 x 200m freestyle relay alongside teammates Pat Murphy, Grant Hackett and Nick Frost.
Holly Young (Nee Lincoln-Smith)
Water Polo
Holly started her water polo career at 13 years old after then high school teacher and Olympic gold medal winner Debbie Watson encouraged her to try out.
Jake Trbojevic

In 2013, Jake debuted for the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles. He went on the be vice-captain from 2017 to 2024 (bio as of 2024) and has stepped in as captain when needed.

Jim was selected to represent Australia at the Paris 2024 Olympics along with Shaun Connor competing in the 49er competition at Marseille Marina, France.

During her junior career Jo represented Australia at the Junior World Championships and Australian Youth Olympic Festival winning 5 medals.

Kynan represented Australian at the London 2012 Olympics following 12 years of working towards to secure his Olympic selection.

Layne started surfing at the age of 4 and grew up surfing Manly Beach. She first represented Australia on the Association of Surfing Pros (ASP) Women’s World Tour in 1988 winning her first event in 1993.
Lea Yanitsas

Lea was first selected to represent Australia in Water Polo at the 2010 FINA Women's Water Polo World Cup where the team finished runners up and silver medallists.
Lisa Darmanin

Lisa made her sailing debut for the Australian National Sailing Team in 2013 and continued to represent the Team until 2023.

The former captain of the Australian Socceroos first represented his country in October 1996 when he played a friendly game against Saudia Arabia.

Malcolm started sailing for Manly Juniors at Hunters Hill Sailing Club when he was 8 years old.
Naomi Flood
Kayaking
Naomi represented Australia at the London 2012 Olympics Canoe Sprint Women’s Kayak Double (WK2) 500m placing 12th. At the Rio 2016 Olympics she placed 20th in the Canoe Sprint Women’s K1 500m.

Nina started sailing at 6 years old and ten years later competed in her first youth regatta at her local club Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club (RPAYC) on Pittwater in 2004.

Rachel first represented Australia as a junior in 2013, with the team winning bronze in the Junior Women’s Softball World Championship.

Reece was first named in the Wallabies National Rugby Union team in May 2016, ahead of the England’s Rugby Union tour of Australia.

Skateboarding
Ruby was selected to represent Australia in Skateboarding at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Sam Hall
Mogul Skiing
Sam made his debut at the 2009 Freestyle Skiing World Cup for Moguls and in the 2012/13 World Cup season he placed eighth in Inawashiro, Japan.
Sami Kennedy-Sim
Ski Cross
Sami began her international career in 2008 and went on to compete in 124 World Cups and 5 World Championships.
Tom Carroll
Surfing
Tom started surfing on the Northern Beaches at 8 years old.
Tom Trbojevic
Rugby League
In 2015, Tom debuted for the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles. In 2017 he was selected to play for the Australian national rugby league team the Kangaroos, and again in 2024.
