The Northern Beaches Sporting Honour Roll recognises and celebrates residents of the Northern Beaches selected to represent Australia in a sporting activity across junior, open age and masters level of competition.
Eligibility
Eligibility criteria for nominees:
- Nominees for inclusion on the honour roll are to have been:
- Selected by a sporting body recognised by the Australian Sports Commission or equivalent to represent Australia as an individual or in a team in a sporting activity; or
- Appointed by a recognised National or International sporting body as an Australian referee, umpire, judge, coach, manager, or other appropriate official for an international sporting event; or
- Recognised as an Australian International and/or World Champion in a sporting activity.
- Nominees must have been a resident of the Northern Beaches for at least 5 years prior to the date of selection, appointment or recognition.
- All age groups will be considered including junior, open age and masters level of competition.
Assessment
- Nominations for inclusion on the Honour Roll are to be made by completing and submitting a nomination form.
- Nominations are to include supporting information confirming selection, appointment, recognition and residency.
- There is no closing date for submitting nominations.
- Please allow 4 weeks for Council to assess a nomination depending on all required information being submitted.
- All applicants will be informed in writing of the receipt of their nomination and the outcome.
Induction
- Approved nominees (inductees) will be inducted on a quarterly basis to the Sporting Honour Roll.
- Inductees will receive a letter of congratulations.
- Inductees will be listed on the Sporting Honour Roll website highlighting their success.
