Nina started sailing at 6 years old and ten years later competed in her first youth regatta at her local club Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club (RPAYC) on Pittwater in 2004. By 2007 she was competing at international sailing events going on to win 5 first places, 5 second places and 8 third places throughout her career. 

She received the Australian Sailing Female Sailor of the Year award for the 2009/10 and 2011/12 seasons.

Following this, Nina was selected to represent Australia at the London 2012 Olympics winning silver in the Women’s Elliott 6m – Match Racing.

She was part of the Australian Women’s squad for the inaugural Women’s America’s Cup Race 2024 in Barcelona, Spain.

As of 2024, Nina continues to be a member of RPAYC and being involved in sailing.
