Surfing

Damien was renowned for being the world’s toughest competitor during his 15 years touring on the World Championship circuit.

In 1984, Damien turned pro after winning the Australian and World Junior Championship. Once pro he won the Rip Curl Pro twice, in 1988 and 1993, and was 3-times runner up in 1989, 1991 and 1997. In 1987 and 1991, Damien won the Association of Surfing Pros World Tour and was also runner up in 1988 and 1992. Throughout his career, Damien took home a total of 19 pro tour victories. 

In 1999 Damien was inducted into the Australian Surfing Hall of Fame recognising his contributions to the sport.

Damien grew up surfing at Narrabeen.
