Community engagement strengthens the links between Council and the community, ensures we are aware of and responsive to your concerns and improves our efficiency and effectiveness. The new Community Engagement Strategy was adopted by Council on 18 November 2025 and outlines what consultation you can expect from Council, whether it's large-scale plans involving the whole community or smaller neighbourhood projects.

The Community Engagement Strategy provides staff with direction on engagement planning and provides guidance on when and how staff should engage with the community.
