Senior school students, parents and carers are invited to hear top tips for coping with the pressures of Year 12 from one of Australia’s leading psychologists, Dr Michael Carr-Gregg.
The Surviving Year 12 – A Sanity Kit For Students and Their Parents author will discuss study methods, stress management and how to keep things in perspective at Narrabeen Sports High on Thursday 15 June from 6.30-8.30pm.
Northern Beaches Council General Manager Planning, Place & Community David Kerr said the success of past talks proves how beneficial it is to have an expert of Dr Carr-Gregg’s calibre.
“Dr Carr-Gregg’s advice is effective for turning an anxious or uncertain period of transition into a momentous time to enjoy and calmly reflect on the future,” Mr Kerr said.
This year, Narrabeen Sports High School will continue to work with Council to organise and host the event.
“Students learn event management skills by setting up the venue, PA system, and working with such a high-profile guest speaker,” David Kerr said.
Dr Carr-Gregg is the resident parenting expert on Channel 7’s Sunrise.
In recent years his work has focused on technology, including social media, apps and wearable devices.
Bookings for the free event are essential via youthbookings@northernbeaches.nsw.gov.au.
