Northern Beaches Council’s Narrabeen Children's Centre has received an award at this year’s Excellence in Early Childhood Education Awards.
The annual award recognises the great work educators do and the role they play in the lives of children, their families and the broader community.
Narrabeen Children’s Centres won the Large Community Metropolitan Service Excellence Award which encapsulates the values of the service, their approach to education and care, involvement with families and the community and future plans for the service.
Northern Beaches Mayor Sue Heins said Council provides an exemplary Childrens service to the community and it is fitting to be recognised as part of these prestigious sector awards.
"We are incredibly proud of the outstanding dedication, hard work, and enthusiasm shown by our local children’s service," said Mayor Heins of the recent award.
"This recognition highlights centres commitment to nurturing our youngest residents and supporting families in our community. Their excellence sets a standard that our educators are committed to providing an environment where every child can thrive."
Narrabeen Children’s Centre is one of nine Early Learning Centres run by Council. The long daycare service offers care for 56 children, aged 6 months to 6 years.
The annual gala night is facilitated by the Australian Childcare Alliance NSW which is the national peak body that represents, advocates, informs and promotes quality early learning services throughout Australia.
The awards night was held at the Hyatt Regency, Sydney on Saturday 2 November 2024. Find out more about Australian Childcare Alliance.
In June this year, Belrose Children’s Centre was rated as ‘Excellent’ by the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) which is the highest and most difficult rating to achieve. There were only 29 children’s services of the 17,705 in Australia to receive this rating.
This is the second time the centre has achieved the rating and is currently the only early learning service on the Northern Beaches with the accolade.
