It’s one of the most well supported annual events on the Beaches and is open to people of all abilities. Sun Run is on again with early bird registrations now open.

Sun Run follows a scenic route that stretches from iconic Dee Why to Manly Beaches, with entrants able to choose to participate in a 7km or 10km course on Saturday 3 February 2024.

Northern Beaches Mayor Sue Heins said the fun-spirited event is open to everyone.

“This annual event has been taking place on the beaches since 2011 and is gaining momentum every year.

“I think it’s great that entrants can also choose to raise funds for a charity close to their heart whilst keeping active.

“The much-loved event appeals to locals and visitors of all fitness levels. Runners, walkers and experienced athletes alike are invited to participate in this popular, summer fun run.

“Don’t miss out on your place in one of the most picturesque fun runs in our state” Mayor Heins said.

This year the event welcomes Nedd Brockmann who will be competing on the day – known for his incredible work raising $2.5 million for the homeless charity Mobilise by completing a gruelling run from Perth to Sydney in an amazing 47 days.

Nedd, originally from Forbes in country NSW, has a “can do attitude” taking up running to inspire people to do more for themselves and more for the homeless and it paid off with a cult following.

“I’m excited to be running in the Sun Run come February. It's a great event for everyone to get involved and I can’t wait to meet everyone who attends. Life’s all about giving everything a red hot go, so get down there and have a crack”, Brockmann said.

“Grab your friends, family and colleagues for a great day out and I will see you at the finish line with my Choccy Milk.”
