Council is seeking the ideas and suggestions from the community on the current and future use of Governor Phillip Park in Palm Beach.
Northern Beaches Mayor Sue Heins said the ideas will help inform a new Plan of Management to guide the use and management of the park.
“Governor Phillip Park is a treasured jewel on the Northern Beaches, a world class reserve with natural beauty and spectacular views,” Mayor Heins said.
“It belongs to the community, so we want to hear your thoughts on how we should manage it now and into the future.
“We want to know how you use the park, what aspects are special to you, what you value and any ideas you may have for its future use.
“We invite you to jump online, take a look at the site plan, add your comments to our ideas board, or fill out a quick survey.”
As part of the review, Council is considering the recreational, environmental, social and cultural values and characteristics of the area. The revised plan will consider current and future management and use of the entire park, including a trial of a dog-off leash area.
You can have your say by contributing to the interactive ideas board or taking a short online survey.
There will be further community consultation as Council develops the new Plan of Management.
“This is just the very first step in our consultation with you. There will be more opportunities to have your say as we develop a new plan for managing this precious park,” Mayor Heins said.
